“The bill I signed into law today will help children who suffer from severe seizure disorders. Throughout the legislative process I insisted on the tightest controls and regulations for this measure, and I have been assured by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics that CBD oil is not an intoxicant. The outcome is a bill that allows this substance to be used therapeutically as is the case for other controlled prescription medications. I remain opposed to any effort that would attempt to legalize marijuana or its derivatives outside of the confines of this bill.”
It depends on what kind of hemp oil it is. It needs to be therapeudic grade, not hemp culinary oil. CBD is in my experience and opinion far superior to any other. It is non psychotropic but has all of the healing properties.
Hello Mrs Gonzalez I work for a company that sells CBD and has had extremely successful results with seizure disorders. Especially in children. I also use our oil myself for chronic pain from a connective tissue disorder and I give it to my 4 year old son for Autism. If you would like more information I’d be happy to help.
CBD comes from Cannabis sativa L, an annual herbaceous flowering plant. Cannabis sativa L. is the plant species, and does not mean our products will have the sativa like effects typically associated with those strains of marijuana. The indica and sativa distinction does not have as much bearing on the plant’s effects without the presence of THC. Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis are all subspecies of Cannabis Sativa L. Our hemp extract is made with cultivars that are bred with approximately 70% sativa and 30% indica genetics.
Bergamaschi and colleagues investigated the anxiolytic efficacy of cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis sativa plant, during a simulated public speaking task. Twenty-four treatment-naïve participants diagnosed with social anxiety disorder were randomized to either placebo or CBD and significant group differences were found on anxiety and related constructs (Bergamaschi et al., 2011). Though promising, further research is needed to investigate cannabidiol and its anxiolytic effects.
There is preclinical (rodent) evidence to suggest that cannabidiol may reduce THC clearance, modestly increasing THC’s plasma concentrations resulting in a greater amount of THC available to receptors, increasing the effect of THC in a dose-dependent manner. A small clinical trial reported that CBD partially inhibits the CYP2C catalyzed hydroxylation of THC to 11-OH-THC.
Side effects of CBD include sleepiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue, malaise, weakness, sleeping problems, and others. It does not have intoxicating effects like those caused by THC, and may have an opposing effect on disordered thinking and anxiety produced by THC. CBD has been found to interact with a variety of different biological targets, including cannabinoid receptors and other neurotransmitter receptors. The mechanism of action of CBD in terms of its psychoactive and therapeutic effects is not fully clear.
Unlike medical cannabis abundant in the psychoactive ingredient Δ9-THC, modern hemp has been selectively bred to produce low levels of Δ9-THC and high levels of fiber, seed, and, more recently, cannabidiol (CBD). Most of the European Union and Canada have recognized the value of hemp and have defined a legal limit of 0.3% Δ9-THC in the dry plant material (Small and Marcus, 2003), with the exception of Italy (0.2% Δ9-THC) (Cappelletto et al., 2001). Many hemp cultivars are rich in cellulose used for biofuel, primary fibers for pulping, fine fiber textiles, dense flowering varieties that offer abundant seed, or high CBD-to-Δ9-THC ratios. Hemp varieties resistant to drought, high soil salinity, cold, heat, humidity, and common pests and diseases have been selected to improve yields (Watson and Clarke, 2014). To date, 51 hemp cultivars have been approved for commercial use by the European Union (Directive, 2013). These registered varieties originate from high-latitude European nations, which are not acclimated for equatorial regions of the world. Little is known about the viability of the European cultivars in the United States, and it is currently being examined by agronomists.
The Virginia Board of Pharmacy “is currently implementing a process for issuing pharmaceutical processor permits [for cannabidiol oil]. It is anticipated that a Request for Application (RFA) process will open in the spring of 2018.”

In terms of cancer, the suggestion is to have three doses of cannabis oil each day, and gradually increase the amount to 1 gram per day. The full treatment is believed to take 90 days. Please note that cannabis oil is still illegal in many countries, but there is a significant amount of research being done on its medical applications, and a number of reputable sources have put out guides regarding the use of cannabis oil for treatment of many diseases.
These receptors are divided into two types, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are mainly in the brain, liver, kidneys and lungs. CB2 receptors are mainly in the immune system. Cannabinoids actually bind with these receptors to regulate various functions in the body.
According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), “hemp extract must be composed of less than nine-tenths of one percent (0.9%) tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) by weight, at least five percent (5%) cannabidiol (CBD) by weight and may contain no other psychoactive substances.” By law, patients are allowed to use and possess CBD but it remains illegal to cultivate or produce hemp extract in the state. People in possession of the DHHS Caregiver Registration letter are allowed to carry hemp extract outside their homes.
Cannabidiol has very low affinity for the cannabinoid CB1 and CB2 receptors but is said to act as an indirect antagonist of these receptors. At the same time, it may potentiate the effects of THC by increasing CB1 receptor density or through another CB1 receptor-related mechanism.
I wanted to answer this because we’ve already experienced this first hand. My Mom has chronic arthritis pretty much all over her body along with a severe case of Psoraisis through out most of her body. We were desperate to get her relief for several years and finally tried edible Cannibis. Since my Mom is in her 80s this was not easy to convince her to do. But her arthritis and Psoraisis was getting worse we tried Cannibis and it soothed her pain of arthritis…this was our main focus was to find her some relief of arthritis pain…after 3-4 weeks of taking the edibles (we got chocolate forms of edibles) we also noticed her Psoraisis was slowly disappearing! It’s now been about 7 mos and she is about 90% improved of her CHRONIC PSORAISIS !!! We weren’t really concentrating on her Psoraisis as much as focused on helping her get some relief of her arthritis, but miraculously – we were able to relieve her with both diseases…
This is my second purchase with pure kana. I suffer from terrible anxiety. Since I’ve started using CBD oils my anxiety has been under control. I have tried medications prescribed by doctors, which side effects were not ideal. There are no side effects with CBD oil. I use it once in the morning, and once at night, and in times of great anxiety. I used to have debilitating anxiety attacks. What i like about CBD oil is that i can take it when i feel anxious and in no time the anxiety passes.I can finally go out and do new and exciting things with out my anxiety controlling me. I am beyond please with the quality of these products and will continue to purchase them!
The compound has also shown promise in treating anxiety, depression and schizophrenia. Much of this work has been in rats and mice, but several studies have found benefits for humans. For instance, German researchers showed in 2012 that giving CBD to schizophrenic patients reduced psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and disordered thinking.

This debate often surfaces in circles of Cannabis users, mainly originating from misinformation. Based on what we know, we state that CBD and THC are too different to compare them directly. THC can be abused while Cannabidiol is safe because of no recreational properties. Many users say that CBD is “useless” because it cannot get them “high.”
If you’re just diving into the world of CBD, we recommend a starting serving size of two to three milligrams. From there, you can work your way up to 100 or even 200 milligrams, after you’ve taken the time to gradually observe how CBD affects your body and mind. Remember, you cannot overdose on CBD, and there are no reported side effects from taking high concentrations. Always refer to the dosage guidelines on the product packaging if you are unsure.
Generally speaking, most marijuana producers and sellers (especially on the black market) don’t test for contaminants (metals, pesticides, bacteria, etc.). Rick Simpson Hemp Oil is actually more a method of extraction than it is a specific product. People use the Rick Simpson method with hundreds of different strains of marijuana, so the THC, CBD and other cannabinoid content of the final oil always vary greatly, depending on the cannabis the consumers are acquiring. Usually what’s used for Rick Simpson oil is a strain with an inferior CBD content (and high THC), because that’s what the vast amount of marijuana is nowadays.
Because of the legally murky nature of marijuana, the FDA has not stepped in to regulate products like CBD oil, Bonn-Miller said. States are struggling to put regulations in place, but they don’t have the deep pockets of the federal government.
The cannabinoids found in both CBD and THC oil mimic the endocannabinoids that our bodies naturally produce. Endocannabinoids are compounds that regulate vital functions such as internal stability, homeostasis, pain regulation, and immune system functioning. Whether they’re produced by the body or obtained from the cannabis plant, cannabinoids facilitate communication on a cellular level between cells to trigger various bodily processes. Therefore, a deficiency of cannabinoids can result in a system thrown out of balance, manifesting in unwanted symptoms and other health complications.

Additionally, several animal studies have demonstrated that CBD may help reduce the inflammation and cell death associated with heart disease due to its powerful antioxidant and stress-reducing properties.
Just about everyone has something nice to say about Green Dot Labs’ new strain-specific, full-spectrum extract (FSE) cartridge pens. Their concentrates are butane-extracted from Green Dot’s Black Label strains. Chanel, a budtender at The Station, told me that Green Dot’s cartridges are very well-constructed—customers seldom return them because of malfunction.
Many strains of marijuana are known for having abundant levels of THC and high-CBD strains are less common; however, with the medical community paying more attention to the therapeutic effects of CBD, that is beginning to change. CBD is being used to reduce the intoxicating effects of THC, such as paranoia and memory impairment.
Hemp oil is fabricated from the plant called hemp. In other words, it is a hemp extract taken from the seeds of the plant. While this type of oil can be extracted from all plants in the cannabis genus, industrial hemp is the only plant used for hemp oil. This type of hemp is specifically produced industrially and the amount of psychoactive substances that are contained in it is minimal.

Single-molecule CBD is less effective therapeutically than whole plant CBD-rich oil extract. Scientific studies have established that synthetic, single-molecule CBD has a very narrow window of efficacy and requires great precision to achieve that efficacy, whereas lower concentration, whole-plant, CBD-rich nutritional supplement regimens are already showing efficacy for many. Single-molecule CBD lacks critical secondary cannabinoids and other medicinal compounds found in high-resin cannabis strains. These compounds interact with CBD and THC to enhance their therapeutic benefits. Scientists call this the “entourage effect.” Numerous hemp compounds have medicinal attributes, but the therapeutic impact of whole plant hemp is greater than the sum of its parts.
There is some promising evidence that CBD use may help people to quit smoking. A pilot study posted to Addictive Behaviors found that smokers who used an inhaler containing the compound CBD smoked fewer cigarettes but did not have any additional craving for nicotine.
