Hemp oil is fabricated from the plant called hemp. In other words, it is a hemp extract taken from the seeds of the plant. While this type of oil can be extracted from all plants in the cannabis genus, industrial hemp is the only plant used for hemp oil. This type of hemp is specifically produced industrially and the amount of psychoactive substances that are contained in it is minimal.
On June 1, 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed SB 339, which allows the use of cannabis oil that is no more than 0.5% THC and at least 10% CBD for the treatment of intractable epilepsy. The bill requires patients to get approval from two certified specialists.
Don’t order if you need it within a few weeks. Ordered 5 days ago and no word on when it will ship. Hoping to get a response to my email on Monday (a week after I ordered) but at the point it will take 2 weeks to get it- if I get it! Was excited to try this brand as I’ve heard great reviews. Unfortunately the slow shipping and no updates (in case something is wrong- I don’t see the vanilla even listed anymore) has left a pretty bad first impression.
Cannabidiol has antipsychotic effects. The exact cause for these effects is not clear. But cannabidiol seems to prevent the breakdown of a chemical in the brain that affects pain, mood, and mental function. Preventing the breakdown of this chemical and increasing its levels in the blood seems to reduce psychotic symptoms associated with conditions such as schizophrenia. Cannabidiol might also block some of the psychoactive effects of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Also, cannabidiol seems to reduce pain and anxiety.
Single-molecule CBD is less effective therapeutically than whole plant CBD-rich oil extract. Scientific studies have established that synthetic, single-molecule CBD has a very narrow window of efficacy and requires great precision to achieve that efficacy, whereas lower concentration, whole-plant, CBD-rich nutritional supplement regimens are already showing efficacy for many. Single-molecule CBD lacks critical secondary cannabinoids and other medicinal compounds found in high-resin cannabis strains. These compounds interact with CBD and THC to enhance their therapeutic benefits. Scientists call this the “entourage effect.” Numerous hemp compounds have medicinal attributes, but the therapeutic impact of whole plant hemp is greater than the sum of its parts.

Side effects of CBD include sleepiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, fatigue, malaise, weakness, sleeping problems, and others. It does not have intoxicating effects like those caused by THC, and may have an opposing effect on disordered thinking and anxiety produced by THC. CBD has been found to interact with a variety of different biological targets, including cannabinoid receptors and other neurotransmitter receptors. The mechanism of action of CBD in terms of its psychoactive and therapeutic effects is not fully clear.
Live in iowa and broke my back 3 yrs ago tired of the pain pills and found hemp oil now I read about that cbd oil is way different than hemp oil. Help??? What do I need for pain does the hemp oil work or do I need the other where can I get what I need without going to the local headshop
In the U.S., dietary supplements come with serving size suggestions located on the Supplement Facts label. We tend to encourage a “less is more” mentality when it comes to the amount of oils or capsules our customers consume on a regular basis. (We recommend starting out with 15 drops.) That being said, the serving size of our supplements is a matter of personal preference. We strongly encourage Bluebird customers to experiment with our products and consult with a healthcare professional as needed. This is the best way to identify the amount and frequency of consumption that works best for each individual.

It is thought to be caused by a number of factors, including genetics, bacteria, underlying inflammation and the overproduction of sebum, an oily secretion made by sebaceous glands in the skin (22, 23).
CBD capsules are similar to your everyday multi-vitamin. Capsules make a comfortable alternative to people who do not wish to taste the Cannabidiol oil. If you take medication tablets, capsules will help integrate Cannabinoids seamlessly into your daily routine. The potency of capsules can range from 25-50 mg per capsule. You should pay close attention to just how potent your capsules are to ensure you get your desired dose of CBD. The only downside to CBD capsules is when you want to increase your dosage you will have to increase the number of capsules you take daily. Some people find it hard to swallow capsules, and this fact should be considered when purchasing your product.

Note that the Cannabis sativa L. our growers harvest is a type of carefully cultivated hemp. Hemp is a legal plant that the USDA defines as any Cannabis sativa L. variety containing THC concentrations of no more than 0.3%. This means the plant produces little to no THC, the phyto-cannabinoid found in marijuana that causes a feeling of intoxication.
A 2013 study published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology reports that CBD protects against the vascular damage caused by a high glucose environment, inflammation or the induction of type 2 diabetes in animal models; plus, CBD proved to reduce the vascular hyperpermeability (which causes leaky gut) associated with such environments. The NIH recognizes the need for additional research on the therapeutic effects of CBD and other cannabinoids, and supports ongoing efforts to reduce barriers to research in this area. NIH is currently supporting a number of studies on the therapeutic effects as well as the health risks of cannabinoids. These include studies of the therapeutic value of CBD for:
Cannabidiol has been found to act as an antagonist of the GPR55, a G protein-coupled receptor and putative cannabinoid receptor that is expressed in the caudate nucleus and putamen in the brain. It has also been found to act as an inverse agonist of the GPR3, GPR6, and GPR12. Although currently classified as orphan receptors, these receptors are most closely related phylogeneticaly to the cannabinoid receptors. In addition to orphan receptors, CBD has been shown to act as a serotonin 5-HT1A receptor partial agonist, and this action may be involved in its antidepressant, anxiolytic, and neuroprotective effects. It is an allosteric modulator of the μ- and δ-opioid receptors as well. The pharmacological effects of CBD have additionally been attributed to PPARγ agonism and intracellular calcium release.
I am realively new to this product. And I have not been disappointed. It is starti g to help with the intense chronic back and leg pain after a failed fusion and a high frequency internal tens unit. The doctors took me off codeine cold turkey because “narcotics are only for cancer and end of life pain” after being on them for more than a decade. Not cool….Tizanadiene just does not cut it. I am finally startING to notice a change with patience. It’s taken a couple months and dosage adjustments but stay the course my friends. It WILL HELP!!! Same as one of the fellas prior to my post this is the only company I have used and if it ain’t broke…the customer service is way beyond and above par. My last bottle came with a sticker from the post office saying they damaged my package. You could clearly see where the oil seal had broken and saturated through envelope. I sent pictures with a fb msg to them on Saturday when I recieved it. Monday not only did I get a first thing reply stating they would send out replacement but also a phone call to make sure all was taken care of for me. You don’t find that kind of customer service ANYWHERE these days. So thank you for your product, you attention to detail for customer care and a great product. You have a lif long customer!

Generally speaking, most marijuana producers and sellers (especially on the black market) don’t test for contaminants (metals, pesticides, bacteria, etc.). Rick Simpson Hemp Oil is actually more a method of extraction than it is a specific product. People use the Rick Simpson method with hundreds of different strains of marijuana, so the THC, CBD and other cannabinoid content of the final oil always vary greatly, depending on the cannabis the consumers are acquiring. Usually what’s used for Rick Simpson oil is a strain with an inferior CBD content (and high THC), because that’s what the vast amount of marijuana is nowadays.
On July 1, 2015, HB 32became law after Gov. Matt Mead neither signed the bill nor vetoed it, allowing the use of hemp extract that contains at least 15% CBD and no more than 0.3% THC for the treatment of intractable epilepsy.
On Mar. 21, 2014, Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed HB 105, known as “Charlee’s Law,” which allows the use and possession of marijuana extract, under certain conditions, by people with intractable epilepsy who have a statement signed by a neurologist. The extract must be composed of less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and at least 15% cannabidiol (CBD) by weight, and may not contain any other psychoactive substance. The law goes into effect on July 1, 2014. The extract must be obtained in a sealed container from a laboratory that is licensed in the state where it was produced, with a label stating the extract’s ingredients and origin, and transmitted by the laboratory to the Utah Department of Health. The Utah Department of Health is required to determine the details of the registration program.
“It’s ludicrous and arbitrary,” according to Devinsky, who says getting government approval for his epilepsy trial required dozens of hours of extra work. Like most scientists who study the compound, he uses almost pure CBD. Although not at all psychoactive, it must be kept in a heavy safe with an alarm system.
For our products, we use CBD oil that is extracted from hemp, a legal plant low in THC. The USDA defines industrial hemp as any part or derivative of Cannabis sativa L. with no more than 0.3% THC concentration on a dry-weight basis. This definition applies to both seeds, fibers, and other derivatives of Cannabis sativa L.
Epilepsy. Some early research suggests that taking cannabidiol daily for up to 18 weeks might reduce seizures in some people. But other research shows that taking cannabidiol daily for 6 months does not reduce seizures in people with epilepsy. Reasons for the conflicting data are unclear. Possibly the studies were too small.
While they are similar in some ways, there are important differences between hemp oil and CBD oil. As a consumer, it’s easy to get confused by phrases such as “cannabis oil” and “marijuana oil,” especially when many companies seem to use these terms interchangeably. Let’s take a closer look at hemp oil and CBD oil to learn how to distinguish the two.

Cannabidiol is listed in the EU Cosmetics Ingredient Database (CosIng). However, the listing of an ingredient, assigned with an INCI name, in CosIng does not mean it is to be used in cosmetic products nor approved for such use.
